MAST JV Hosts Spin Class To Benefit ASTAPAC
Jul 30, 2019
MAST Travel Network’s Young Professional Network, MAST JV, hosted a charity CycleBar spin class. It was the organization's first standalone event, which supported ASTAPAC. Participants included: MAST members, preferred suppliers, ASTA’s Midwest Chapter President, Jesse Guerra, and Board Member, John Haskins, as well as MAST staff, including President and COO, John Werner, friends and family. The JV event exceeded the goal of $1,200 in donations.
“Giving back and offering the network a fun, new learning opportunity, where all ages can get involved, was our goal and I believe we were able to accomplish that with all the support we received,” said Stephanie Werner, MAST’s Strategic Development Manager in a written statement.
The group took part in a 45-minute spin class at CycleBar in Lombard, Illinois. At the end of the event, participants gathered at a post event reception where they listened to ASTA’s John Haskins and Jesse Guerra on how ASTAPAC works directly on behalf of all travel advisors for agency rights and the travel advisor community at large. Haskins said, “If you’re not at the table you’re on the menu.” MAST and ASTA work together to influence the industry.

Greetings JV Members,

Welcome back from Scottsdale! We hope you had as good of a time as we did at this year’s MAST Conference. We were so happy to have had so many of you there with us. We hope you take the knowledge you gained from this year’s Conference and put it towards your 2017 goals. Thank you for everyone who joined us for our JV reserved table lunch, we had a great time getting to mingle with all of you. We hope you enjoyed all the fun technology and everything new rolling out with our suppliers this year. With the 2017 Scottsdale Conference being such a success we hope you are all even more excited for what next year’s Conference will bring. Now that we are back, summer is just around the corner. We know this can be a slower time for agents, but we encourage you to take what you learned at this year’s Conference and get to work. Make a marketing, sales and personal game plan that will get you through the summer months and catapult you into fall sales. We want to congratulate everyone who is getting out there and networking you are the future of the industry, so keep up the good work. – Amber, Stephanie & Nicole

Travel: The Next Generation

The MAST Travel Network’s recent creation of MAST JV, a networking group for travel professionals under 40, is the latest move to address the shortage of “young blood” in retail travel sales. The JV group will focus on education and career development along with networking. It will host exclusive networking hours at MAST events throughout the year, send out monthly newsletters and invite members on exclusive fam trips. Additional benefits will be offered to JV members who join ASTA. Agency membership with MAST is required to join the JV group. "Within our membership, we definitely see more young travel professionals,” said John Werner, MAST president and COO. “Agency owners and managers are looking for ways to connect with the Millennial generation. Through our efforts, MAST is helping them engage this generation." Read full article...
